Nearly 150 researchers, graduate students, and partners gathered during National Invasive Species Awareness Week for the Invasive Species Collaborative’s 3rd Annual Invasive Species Research Symposium — an afternoon focused on advancing science that informs real-world management. The program brought together faculty talks, fast-paced poster pitches, and a networking social that sparked new connections across disciplines.

Keynote speaker Dr. Julian Olden of the University of Washington examined “Society’s Struggle with Unwanted Species,” drawing on his work in invasion ecology and freshwater conservation. A Virginia state agency panel offered an inside look at prevention and management priorities across forestry, wildlife, agriculture, and conservation.
