IGC alumna Dr. Sarah Juster was highlighted in a Fralin Feature celebrating the Virginia Tech Class of 2026. Her research focuses on agroforestry, humanitarian environmental challenges, and social‑ecological systems in East Africa. After graduation, Juster will begin a research fellowship with the National Forestry Resources Research Institute in Uganda. Her work draws on interdisciplinary mentorship and long‑term partnerships in refugee settlements to strengthen food security and livelihoods. She credits the GCC with providing an interdisciplinary home that supported her research and growth throughout her doctoral work.
