Dr. Jones is a Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Fish and Wildlife Conservation, working in Dr. Elizabeth Hunter’s research lab. Dr. Jones’ research focuses on quantitative and spatial ecology, attempting to bridge the gap between field conservation and quantitative methods. His interests are primarily the ecology and evolution of reptile taxa. With regards to global change, Dr. Jones has published work looking at animal movement in response to anthropogenic disturbances.

His postdoctoral work continues with the global change theme, with one project focusing on monitoring methods for translocated Gopher tortoises; and the other project is to develop R resources for multi objective optimization of timber harvest scheduling.
