The Global Change Center was excited to welcome back IGC IGEP alumna, Dr. Sydney Hope, for a private film showing of Discreet Sentinels on September 19th. The film showing was open to current IGC Fellows and other members of the GCC community.
Hope finished her degree in 2019 and has been a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre d’Etudes Biologiques de Chizé in France. Joining Hope for the film showing and Q&A session was Dr. Mathias Dezetter, Vice President of NGO Nature Conserv’Action.
The documentary highlights the collaboration between NGO Nature Conserv’Action and Peruvian community members to increase local knowledge about biodiversity, address human-wildlife conflicts, and seek sustainable solutions that benefit local communities and natural ecosystems.
For those who missed the showing, the documentary will be on Nature Conserv’Action’s YouTube channel in the near future. You can learn more about Nature Conserv’Action and their efforts to ensure and promote the preservation of biodiversity by visiting their website (in French but can be translated via google), Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
