Kudos to Dr. Gifty Anane-Taabeah for successfully defending her PhD dissertation on Tuesday, September 18, 2018!  Gifty has completed her doctoral study within the College of Natural Resource’s Fish and Wildlife Conservation Department, under the advisement of GCC Faculty Affiliate, Dr. Emmanuel Frimpong.  Her dissertation seminar was titled, “Molecular genetic variation in wild and farmed tilapia in Ghana”.

Gifty joined the IGC program and Frimpong’s Lab in the Fall of 2015.  Her research focus has been on identifying local populations of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) that are adapted to future climate in Ghana.

Dr. Anane-Taabeah will immediately be resuming her lecturer position in the Department of Fisheries and Watershed Management at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana.
