This Capstone project encompasses planning and hosting a workshop and open mic night for graduate students wishing to present their science to the public in a low stakes environment. The workshop will provide interested students with an opportunity to interact with fellow peers and collaborate on how to best communicate their research. The open mic night will serve as a public, low stakes engagement event for graduate students to present their research using visual aids and creative media. Our team will help to facilitate this event to encourage engagement between students and the public. The outcomes of this Capstone will be improved communication and teamwork amongst the Capstone group and positive learning experiences for students that participate.
