IGC Fellows organized and hosted a community screening event for the documentary Hidden Rivers of Southern Appalachia, a Freshwaters Illustrated production. The event was free and open to the public, and held at The Lyric Theatre in downtown Blacksburg on Saturday, November 2, 2019. Directly following the film, the event featured a Q&A discussion with a panel of local experts and community stakeholders representing: the New River Land Trust, the New River Conservancy, Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, Virginia Tech Fish and Wildlife Department, a local member of the North American Fishes Association, as well a representative from Freshwaters Illustrated who helped to create the documentary film.
